I chose this set of 20 journal notebooks and pen sets as gifts to be given to children at Our upcoming Family Reunion.__Since Ours is a spiritual family, I appreciate the fact that both the notebook covers and the pens have inspirational wording with reference to corresponding Chapter and Verse(s) from The Holy Bible. That way the User may read further about the wording if they choose to do that. SMILES__I received 4 colors, though I did expect 5 colors according to the pictures from the listing -though I found no reference as to the exact color combinations or quantity of each. I do appreciate when I can have every confidence in the listing photos to be a fair representation of the item(s) I actually receive. Just sayin’. Although it does not really affect me in this case, it would be disappointing if I needed a specific number of each specific color. IMO__The retractable pens each have a stylus on one end for use with electronic devices. Each of them have black ink and they work well. Yes, I tested every single one. I’m OCD like that. SMILES__The pen colors correspond with the notebook color (for the mostpart): 4 RED notebooks/pens, 4GREEN notebooks/ pens, 4 KRAFT (Khaki/TAN) notebooks/pens, and 8 BLACK notebooks with 4 BLACK pens and 4 PURPLE pens. All pens are identical in style except that the TAN ones are like a natural wood and they are bigger in circumference__The notebooks are a good size and I like that there is an attached loop for holding the ink pen so it doesn’t get lost__Each notebook journal has 50 two-sided sheets of paper which take ink or pencil very well. The paper isn’t slick IYKYK The paper is bound by a plastic spiral loop so the papers stay put until the sheets are torn out__Also included are a variety of brightly colored narrow sticky notes as well as the standard pale yellow ones__BOTTOM LINE: Even with the unexpected color combination, I am very much pleased with this set and feel it is a very affordable way to share an inspirational gift with Others. I would no doubt choose these again
