These are just great for anyone learning shorthand or just taking notes. The paper quality is quite good. I am just learning shorthand and did not want to spend the money for the Steno books you found in the office supply stores. I also find that they are heavy enough to withstand any rough use you may have. I would recommend them to anyone, not just for shorthand but for any type of note taking. They work real good for shopping lists. The flip open is easy to use at the store.

If what you need is NOT the thickest paper, NOT a steno book with the-best-quality-of-all paper, NOT a steno notebook with the most pages, and just want a good, servicable stenographer’s notebook at a very good price, THIS 12-pack of TOPS SECOND NATURE STENO BOOK, 6 X 9 INCH, GREGG RULED, RECYCLED, 80 SHEETS 12-PACK, WHITE (74688), should be your choice! A 12-pack will “price-protect” you against any future paper, (and steno notebook), price rises. If the 80 sheets enclosed is not enough for your purposes, you can always go to those office supply stores which will re-bind them for you, putting two or three together. The paper in this notebook is surprisingly good, with very LIGHT lines allowing for either writing on those lines, (for steno and other writing purposes), or ignoring them, (which cannot be easily done with those books having darker lines), for drawing purposes.This is not a fancy notebook — but it is perfectly perfect for most uses. Before I took a chance, and bought this notebook, I was rather wary of the quality of recycled paper. No more! These notebooks are usuable, inexpensive, and help save the environment, as well!Wish I could give them 10, (or even 100) stars!
